What are cookies?
Like most websites, mine collects some basic information about you – e.g. whether you have been here before, and your approximate location. It does this by storing small text files called cookies on your computer, phone or tablet.
What kind of cookies are in use on this website, and what are they used for?
This website was created with Squarespace, which automatically uses functional cookies that can do things like tell you if you’ve liked a blog post or prevents errors from happening. If you click the OK button on the cookie notification that pops up at the bottom of the website, then you are agreeing to use analytics and performance cookies, which can tell me and Squarespace whether you’ve been here before. You can find a full list of the cookies that Squarespace uses here.
How can I opt out of having cookies placed on my devices?
You can’t opt out of having functional cookies placed on your device, because they help the website work. You can prevent analytics and performance cookies from being placed on your device by not clicking the OK button on the cookie notification pop-up bar. If you have already clicked the OK button, then you have told the website it’s OK to remember you and you will need to remove the cookies. Here is a handy list of how to do that in different browsers. Once you have removed the cookies, remember not to click the OK button on the cookie notification pop-up bar when you visit the site in future.
